An old picture of the Rocky Mountains

I forgot my camera this trip, It makes me so mad cause I've seen many a freak here (Actually every truck stop seems to attrack them, I'm sure they are from somewhere else) in West Memphis, Arkansas. Well I'm beginning to feel like this is my new home. I dropped off last Wednesday morning in Northwest Nowheresville Louisiana. I Moved over here last Thursday evening, and I am still waiting. Thank god for on-line poker and this blog or I swear I would go mad, MAD I SAY. I know if you know me you might argue that I've been mad for years. Well I say screw you, who are you to say that about me. This is my blog and for you to go on and on an about me being mad really gets my blood boiling. I feel really bad that I didn't get back home last weekend to help my family doing work at my mom's house, Ronnie, Jerry, Del, Micky, Mark and Jon and Penny I owe you guys Big-Time. I'll probably never pay you back, But please feel some solice knowing that I owe you. I hope to get home for my sis's big shindig at her lakehouse this weekend. Just think how much fun you will have ribbing me about how I missed the work party, and how it was on purpose!
Again let me give my heartfelt thanks to my family. I honestly don't think anyone has had a better family since maybe John-Boy Walton, or maybe the Bush family that's one great family there. I mean they did make one huge mistake but we learned a lesson from it. That lesson is don't tell your retarded child "son you can be anything you want in life, even President".

Home on Monday Evening

I just got home from a run to Lansing MI. I spent the weekend at home, after getting home Friday. Over the weekend, I went to see my Mom, and my sister Penny's family. She has a beautiful grandaughter Samantha (Congratulation's Jon and Katie).

I mentioned that I got home Friday, I left out the previous Sunday to Paris, TN. Then I picked up a load going from Nashville to Huntsville Al. I waited at this smoldering parking lot called Shady Lawn Truck Stop, for a couple of days then I got one from Western Kentucky back home.

OK there is some Shady Lawn here- But you have to look hard for it.

The Big Chicken I guess it's been sitting there for like 50 years

It is a pretty cool statue

Shady Lawn Truckstop- The Big Chicken

I-65 Exit 6 Near Elkton Tennessee-It is between Huntsville Alabama and Nashville TN. It just so happens to be located right next door to the world famous Boobie Bungalow. No I didn't go, but I did hear the girls inside yapping it up on the CB radio, trying to bring in some customers.

Greetings from Holladay/Sugar Tree Tennessee

I delivered early this morning to Dana Corp. in Paris, TN (about 2:30 AM). I had to come south on 641 about 40 miles to I-40 to get phone service. Neither my Sprint/Nextell (No they couldn't hear me now) nor my T-Mobile would work there in Paris, Tennessee. The guy who unloaded me said that only Verizon worked there. I'm sitting across from the North 40 Truck stop here for a little while, I think I'm heading to Nashville for tomorrow, maybe I'll have better luck there. Lately it seems like everytime I go somewhere I get stuck waiting. I have to run about 80 miles east to get to Nashville along I-40 also known as the Music Highway because it connects Memphis TN (Elvis's Graceland Home) to Nashville TN. So long for now.

Over 300,000 miles now

Well another milestone passed. The third time I've flipped the odometer and everytime I say I'm going to watch it and every time, I forget. This time I looked at 299,986 then I looked again and it was 300,001 damn it.

I got it washed!!

I don't wash it very often, 1st full wash in 275,000 miles or so. It may seem like I am being cheap and I probably am but it cost about 35.00 to wash it and I always figured that It would be "miled Out" long before it ever rusts out. It's funny, I forgot how white it is. It looks really good though, maybe I'll only wait 100,000 miles next time.

2005 Chevy 6500 a very good truck

Other than a few minor problems with brake warning lights coming on for no reason (sensors malfuntion) and a trans cooler line leak, It has been quite a good truck through the 1st 300,000 miles. It still drives like new although it probably could use some new shocks. Amazingly I still have a few months left on the engine warranty. I wonder how far this thing will go. Maybe GM could use a spokesman/posterchild for this truck and offer some free service?

Home until Sunday

I'm back at home for most of the weekeend. I picked up a load going down to Paris, Tennessee. I got it yesterday afternoon just after I got home. It delivers Monday morning so I guess I'll be heading out sometime tomorrow afternoon. I didn't take any new pictures so this old one will have to do for now.

Bat Cave-How can you be a secretive Super Hero when they tell everyone where your hideout is?

Sorry, not much to post lately. I went to Anderson South Carolina, last week (Great name for a town, by the way). It was so hot down there.

I did get to spend the weekend at home, Kathy won 4 tickets to see the Onset Dementia tour of the Golden Boys, sponsered by Ensure, Polydent, and Depends. It featured Frankie Avalon, Fabian, and Bobby Rydell. To warm up the crowd, they had some old geezer belting out the Best of Frank Sinatra!!! Well let me just say that watching women in their 60's and 70's Scream dance and sing along to their Idols was either somewhat entertaining or I was fairly intoxicated. Maybe it was some of both. We took Kathy's mom and aunt with us and they were younger than the entertainers. One more note about that evening, Kathy and I need to mark August 2nd, 2008 on our calender. It was the first time in quite a few years (and possible the last) that we were carded to buy booze!!! YES YES I felt like saying damn man you busted us, were not old enough. But we really NEEDED those beers!!!

This week, I did a load on Monday from Taylor to Owosso Michigan, Then I got one picking up in Battle creek, MI going to Kansas City, Kansas.
