Toby Keith Truck in Shreveport

This truck came through the Flying J in Shreveport just before I left out for Laredo, Texas. I imagine it carries the Instruments and lighting equipment for his shows.

Greetings from Shreveport, Louisiana

Stupid Dog Get Your Paws On the Wheel And Get in Your Own Lane

I guess It is no big accomplishment, driving to Shreveport is so easy even a dog can do it! Well at least I got here without busting my passenger side mirror, stupid dog. Go back to doing dog things like playing poker and licking yourself. I'm thinking of calling Rosedale and complaining that they are taking jobs away from us humans.

Well I made my drop this morning, then I got some sleep. It looks like I'll be here until tomorrow. I could get a load tonite, but it's almost 6pm here now, and it's slim pickings (Not Slim Picken's the actor) in the evenings.

Even Dogs know SAFETY FIRST

Always check your mirrors before backing up.

Cedar Springs A.R.P. Church, Sumter National Forest , South Carolina

I passed this church with a really old cemetary out front. I came through Sumter National Forest and then in the middle of woods there it was. I googled it and found that some of these markers that follow are pre Revolutionary War. It is a very eerie place, I just wish Kathy had been with me, I love to scare her. She's funny, she is a afraid of mutant Hillbillies ie The Hills Have Eyes. We live less than one half mile from the city of Detroit (Murder USA) and she gets scared when we are in the beautiful country, go figure.

One note: Shortly after leaving here or right before I got there (Senility is setting in I guess). I hit my first deer since I started doing this. I wasn't going very fast maybe 35, She jumped right in front of me, and I braked hard. I heard a thud and it looked like I hit her dead center in front. No damage to truck and I didn't feel my truck run her over (no antlers, so I presume it was a her). I think she went under my truck and ran away. I couldn't stop right there, it was on a curve but I didn't see her in my mirror. I think she ran out my passenger side to the woods. I was looking in my driver side mirror and never saw her after. I stopped about a quarter mile down road and didn't see any blood or any evidence that I even hit her.

This is really feaky

I swear upon my daughter's (who just so happens to know the password for this blog) photo shopping ass that these Ghouls or undead beings were not here when I originally posted this!!

Above ground decaying crypt?

I wonder if there is a corpse in this, this place was really spooky! I wish Kathy had been with me, I woulda been saying "He's coming to get you Barbara" (If you don't remember that's from the opening scene of Night of the living dead).

Old Truck in Sandersville Georgia

This old Mack truck pulled up while I was sitting at this God Awful Truck stop just south of Sandersville. I wonder how many miles are on it, looks like alot! Someone got their moneys worth. I just got a load picking up tomorrow morning in Fletcher N.C. (about 240 miles to go get it). It's going to Shreveport, Louisiana. I guess turning down Miami worked, both loads deliver Monday morning, and this one is about 300 more miles,798 loaded. The drop also puts me in a little better freight area, I hope anyways Shreveports not great but better than Mami. So long for now

I-39/I-90 Northbound near the Illinois/Wisconsin State Line

Well I'm sitting in Sandersville GA, after a pretty productive week. 1st good week in quite awhile. I saw this guy pass me in Illinois and I wanted a picture of all of these racks. I didn't have time to get my camera out. I got lucky because he got stuck at the Toll Plaza and I have EZ Pass. I was ready when he passed me the 2nd time. This week I delivered in Belvidere, IL on Tuesday morning. I got one later that day going from Germantown, WI(Milwaukee Suburb) to Tonawanda, NY (Buffalo Suburb). I moved over to Erie, PA and got one going from Warren, OH to here in Sandersville GA.

I might have messed up this morning, but I'll never really know. About 10am dispatch had me a load going from Valdosta, GA to Miami, FL. It picked up tonight and delivered Monday morning. It being so early in the day, I turned it down. I've been lucky in the Miami area lately with 2 loads, 1 to Atlantic City, NJ area and 1 to Washington D.C. area. I'ver also been burned down there 2 or 3 times with having to drive empty 7 or 8 hundred miles to find another load. I probably would have taken it, but with one Tropical Storm/Hurricane after another lining up and coming in and it being so early in the day, I thought I'd gamble on a load going to a busier freight area. It is beginning to look like I should have taken it because it is 5:40 PM on Friday now. I am in a good spot here and sometimes I get loads on Friday nights and Saturdays. I am centrally located between Atlanta- Macon- Augusta and North West South Carolina, All decent freight areas. I did have a couple of shots today at loads. 1 going to Baton Rouge and 1 to Ohio but they fell through. Oh well maybe I'll get something out of here before tomorrow. You really need some weekend miles to have a good week in this business.

CHECK OUT MICKY'S SITE, CHRISTMAS WILL BE HERE SOON- GREAT GIFTS

Back Home

While at home this weekend we ran out of the peanuts we feed to the neighborhood squirrels. It turns out that some squirrels only like bread, some hate bread, some love cheerios, and others hate the tasty cereal with a passion. The squirrels of Hazel Park are picky and eagerly await our repurchase of the tasty treat they crave - the peanut.

"You expect me to eat bread?? Where are my peanuts!?"

"Can I come in and check just to make sure you don't have any peanuts left?"

"Can you get me a pillow?"

Nice paint job Micky!!

My Sister in law Michelle painted this for my Sister's house. I guess Ronnie somehow made this off of an internet picture then sent it to someone who cut it out of metal. (CNC Machine I think). It looks great up there. We had a really nice time.

At my Sister's Lakehouse on Labor Day Weekend

The 3 Bears greet boaters passing by . I got home Friday, then Saturday, Kathy, Nicole and I picked up my mom and went to my sister's for a couple of very nice days.
Well after 8 days waiting around in Louisiana and Arkansas, I got a huge run of 215 miles from Memphis, TN -Huntsville, AL. (yeah the Huge was Sarcasm). Then quickly I had another load on my truck Thursday evening! Just 1 small problem, It was going to Belvidere IL, I could have been there on Friday morning but they were closed. So I just went home. I'm leaving out this afternoon for Belvidere.
