This is my brand new AC compresser, notice the lack of a pulley and belt.
My other compresser (pics follow) went out. It barely made it to Laredo, with only one belt now if you lose your AC pulley you break down, not just lose AC great design eh. Well I limped down to Laredo with it barely hanging on, paid over 500 dollars to have a new AC compresser put on and the dam thing mangled the pulley and threw it and the belt off about 800 miles later. I was on a load to Clinton Tennessee, and just hit the Mississippi line, so I had to find a new belt that was shorter and bypassed where the old AC pulley was. It wasn't easy, mine had 7 grooves and the only 7 groove ones they had were 2 big. They had a 6 groove and an 8 groove that would work so I bought the 8 groove and with a razor blade cut 1 groove off the entire circle. I did find out 1 neat thing, this truck can drive with no belt at all, as long as you have enough battery juice. The wind spins the clutch fan enough to keep it cool, thank goodness or I woulda had another tow bill.
At least I had Air Conditioning for about a day and a half, I don't think it will help but hitting it with a hammer might help my mental state right now. I am still trying to find out what the place in Laredo is going to do as far as a refund, I will let you know.
