Hebrews? No He Brews
I saw this sign on Telegraph Road. I guess you can get a Double Latte with a side of Mathew. It made me laugh, but that don't take too much.

Sitting in Romulus
I'm killing some time in Romulus MI. I've got a midnight pick-up near here going to Madison Heights, about 5 miles from home. I had to put front brake pads and rotors on my truck about $800 bucks, but I am really surprised that the original ones lasted 286,404 miles!! I guess it's because of all the highway driving. Well since I was in Erie last week I got a run going to the middle of Massachusetts. I wish I hadn't taken it. I got there Wednesday morning waited a couple of days, then I started driving home, while dispatch tried to find me some work. I ended up driving all the way back home. I did get to spend a few days there Fri night-Wed morning. Today I took a run from Detroit to Toledo waited half the day, then on my way back home I got this run to Madison heights. Dispatch did offer me a load going back to NY state delivering Thursday, but I figured I'd have to probably drive back empty. I'm going on a family trip this weekend and I wanted to be home by Thursday night. This will probably be the last post for a week or so. The next few pictures are ones my daughter took around our house when I was home. take care all.
The Ronald McDonald fun mobile
I passed this RV/fun mobile on I-90 near Cleveland. I guess I won't complain about my job ever again. I could see the headlines if I had that job---Ronald McDonald goes nuts, Mayor McCheese's wife to identify corpse. Hamburglar still missing. Big Mac's seem to taste better than ever.
Sign of the times Thanks to George and Dick
2 days later diesel had went to $5.14. Who would have guessed that at the end of 8 years of oil guys in the White House we'd have fuel prices like this. OK ,so I'm not 100% sure that we can blame them, but it is quite a coincidence isn't it. Luckily I had enough to get to Pennsylvania where I got 6 gallons for $4.95 each. That was enough to get me to Ohio where I filled up at the bargain price of $4.59 a gallon. It only cost me $380.26 to fill up, Still less than the $405.00 it cost me in Florida a couple of weeks ago.Tuesday, June 10, 2008
Tonawanda NY- Erie PA Kelloggs/Keebler Fishing Team
After I delivered to the Tonawanda GM factory, I got some more sleep, hoping dispatch would wake me with a run. I usually don't have much luck in Tonawanda, so I headed down to Erie PA. I was following some pro fisherman, I think. That would be a pretty good job. I'm really good at knocking other people's fish off their lines, just ask Ronnie and Jerry.
Eerie sky at Erie TA Truckstop
I guess Eerie isn't really the right adjective for this sky, but I thought it made a good caption. The next few are more of it. It looked so neat with the sun reflecting silver lines across the edges of the clouds. I believe a couple of these would make nice prints if they were blown up and framed. Dispatch just bid a load for me to Laredo, but alas we didn't get it. For now I wait, I'll probably move west to Cleveland for tomorrow if I don't get a run today. Take care all.
