Home and Sad

Let me start by saying ,that the fact that I'm home is not why I'm sad. I went to Charleston, South Carolina. Then I picked up a load in Charlotte, North Carolina going to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. That's where I ran out of luck and freight. I deadheaded home from Lancaster Saturday night. I did a local run today from Detroit to Toledo, Ohio and back home. The thing that made me sad was the big story on the radio today and the sights I saw in the next few pictures.

This is probably the saddest picture I've ever posted

any idea why?

Very Sad Indeed

Do you see why now?

There's a big clue, on the top of this pic near the left side

Tiger Stadium- Destruction began today

Although, I guess it needs to be done now, due to about 10 years of neglect. This is quite a sad day to many baseball fans in Michigan. I'm not sure how much effort was put into finding a use for this Grand Landmark. Baseball was played here before 1900, Many Tiger greats thrilled countless fans for generations(myself included). The fact that the place where Cobb, Crawford, Cochrane, Gehringer, Greenberg, Newhouser, Kell, Kaline, Horton, Lolich, Trammel, Whittaker and countless others sported the Old English D has come to this, is very shameful to say the least.

Tiger Stadium- probably the last time I see it

It's dumb to feel so sad for a soon to be pile of concrete and steel girders, when there is so much human suffering in the world today. I will surely get over it, but I really dread the day that I drive by Michigan and Trumbull and this place with so many memories, is just one itself.

Kathy, me and my extra chins

We took a little trip to (in Kathy's new car) to the Upper Pennisula of Michigan. We saw a bear run across the road in front of us on the way back. It was really cool but too fast to get a picture of it(Damn). We went to my niece's wedding reception party in Sault Ste. Marie MI. I just got my truck loaded in Riverview, Michigan and I am off to Charleston South Carolina. Bye for Now.
